RPM Socks

Another pair of socks for me! This knitting socks on the T thing is sure paying off.

RPM Socks

Pattern: Knitty
Yarn: Cherry Tree Hill Supersock, Peacock, 1 skein
Needles: US 1.5 (US 0 for the cuffs)
Project Timeline: 2/18/07 - 3/24/07

These ones I love. The yarn is nice and squishy and soft, the colors are dark but there's no pooling, the pattern is interesting but not terribly complicated. I had read somewhere (probably the Knitty Coffeeshop) that if you took one stitch out, you could just K6P3 around, so that's what I did - knitting the last stitch of the first round and the first stitch of the second round together after the cuff. I really like how that worked out (compared to the first time I knit these socks).

The dark socks make wardrobing matching really easy.

February Sock Club Shipments

February was a wonderful month where I received TWO sock club shipments (which is great, because I gave up buying yarn for Lent, but yarn you bought before Lent started clearly does not count). :-)

The first one I received last week was from the Sunshine Yarns Sock Club:

Sunshine Yarns Sock Club - February

I am not loving the color (called Fresh), but that's how these things go, right? The green is just too bright. Still, I do love the soft yarn, and I'm sure I'll eventually find a use for this skein. Plus, Dani is totally sweet (and local).

The second shipment was from the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Rockin' Sock Club:

Rockin' Sock Club - February

This one I like more (the picture I took is hard to see, but that's okay - the color is called Monsoon, in Socks That Rock Mediumweight, and it has lots of purply steely gray and olivey green with different shading in between). Not my favorite colors, but the socks will go with everything.

I am determined to knit all of the RSC shipments in the patterns they come with, just for the experience (and before the next club shipment arrives). This pattern is called Inside Out, because it's reversible. It's toe up, with a short row garter stitch heel and toe, ribbing on both the instep and the sole, and cables up the leg. I think the heel and toe are going to be nice and squishy, and the ribbing all around should make for a really comfy sock. I'm not sure about the cables, but I guess I'll see how they go!
