A Calamity, Indeed

Here is a picture Georgia posted of the Yarn Pirate Booty Club packages going out last week:

Booty Club Packages Leaving with the Mailman

And here is a picture of MY Booty Club package that arrived on Saturday:

Yeah, the package never got to me. :-( My tracking number says it was delivered at 12:50pm on Saturday, August 18, 2007. I was out of town this past weekend, but my roommate was home (though not at the time) and she never saw it. I have called the USPS and my post office in Somerville several times, and it seems there's really nothing that can be done - they claim they did their job (I beg to differ - I don't have my package, therefore their delivery confirmation is a lie).

I emailed Georgia to beg ask for a replacement, and hopefully at some point I will have a skein of superwash BFL in Calamity (yes, that is the name of the colorway this month) in my possession. Ironically, I have never had any BFL in my stash, and I received a FREE skein from The Loopy Ewe on Friday for becoming a Loopy Groupie (that's coming in a later post, along with my other loot). Maybe it's a balance for having to pay for a second skein of Calamity, when I didn't get the first?

That totally sucks that you didn't get your package :-( Hopefully they will send you a new one.

I am getting a new one, thankfully (and thank goodness for Georgia the Yarn Pirate being so nice). I hate the Somerville Post Office, and have pretty much since I moved here. :-(

That sucks! When I was living in Somerville I had a similar thing happen - a package was supposedly delivered *while I was home* but I never got it, then even though it was insured they refused to pay because they claim they delivered it. I called and called the PO and basically they told me the only thing I could do was call the police and report it as stolen. :(

Glad you're getting another package, though.

Yeah, turns out my roommate was home when this package was supposedly delivered. I went around and around with the post office on the phone, but it doesn't sound like I can do anything about it. It makes me feel a tiny bit better that I'm not the only one, though!
